Privacy Policy

This site is a set of published articles. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing to sign up for. This page explains what is collected when you read the site, and what happens if you choose to contact us.

1. Reading the site

Reading an article does not require you to provide anything. Like any web server, the host records technical request data such as IP address, timestamp, requested page, browser type, and referrer in its ordinary server logs. Those logs are used for security and troubleshooting.

2. Analytics

This site does not currently load Google Analytics, and it makes no advertising or cross-site tracking requests. If analytics is enabled in future, it will be Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies and similar technologies set by Google to collect usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device type. It would not be used to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share analytics data.

If analytics is enabled, you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser.

3. When you contact us

If you email us, or send a message through the domain inquiry form, we receive whatever you choose to send us — typically your name, email address, and message. We use it only to reply to you and to keep a record of the exchange.

The inquiry form is a mailto: form: it opens your own email application and sends the message from your own address. Nothing is submitted to a third-party form service, and nothing is stored in a database on this site.

If you prefer WhatsApp, the number we use is listed on the contact page. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy and terms.

4. Domain transactions

Domain sales are not handled on this site. If a domain inquiry leads to a transaction, payment and transfer are completed through a third-party escrow service, which has its own privacy policy and its own data handling. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

5. Third-party links

Our articles link to government and other official sites, including canada.ca, Statistics Canada, CMHC, and provincial programs. Once you follow an external link, that site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over external sites and are not responsible for their practices.

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete the email correspondence we keep. Email [email protected] and we will respond. Because this site is hosted on shared infrastructure, we cannot remove records that a server or search engine has already cached.

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date below changes with it. Material changes are noted on the contact page.
